Moong Dal Porridge

Introduce Moong dal as your baby's first source of quality protein

Moong Dal

from this food. It is delicious and super healthy!!


Parboiled Rice – 1 cup

Moong dal – 1/2 cup

Omam/ Ajwain – 1/4 tsp

Ghee/ coconut oil – 1/4 tsp

Salt – a pinch


Wash rice well, drain the water and dry it well.

Roast par boiled rice and dal seperately until it is hot to touch.

Powder rice, dal and Omam/ Ajwain together finely.

Add 2 tsp of rice dal powder and mix it with water with out lumps.

Allow it to cook in light flame. Finally add salt and oil to the porridge and mix well.

The porridge can be thick or thin based on the baby’s tolerance

Note - Initially when you introduce rice porridge, give it a little diluted or thin for a week.

Nutritional highlights – Rice provides carbohydrate. Dal is rich n protein. Ajwain/ omum helps in easy digestion. Coconut oil/ ghee help to provide essential fatty acids.
