Beetroot dosa

  • Rice – 1 cup

  • Urad dal – ¼ cup

  • Methi seeds – 1 tsp

  • Beetroot, cut– 1/2 no.

  • Coriander leaves -1 tsp


  1. Wash and soak rice and urad dal and methi seeds for 2 hours and grind it well. Allow it to ferment for 6-8 hours.

  2. If you are using ready prepared dosa batter then skip the above step.

  3. Pressure cook beetroot for a 3-4 whistles, puree it and mix it with the batter. Add coriander leaves and mix well.

  4. Heat tawa and spread dosa in a circular motion. You can make it thin as required.

  5. Allow it to cook and flip the dosa and cook again.

  6. Dosa is ready to be packed. Serve with chutney or gravy of choice.
