RICE PORRIDGE

Ingredients


· Parboiled Rice – 1/2 cup

· Omam/ Ajwain - a pinch

· Ghee/ coconut oil – 1/4 tsp


Method

1. Wash rice well, drain the water and dry it well.Roast par boiled rice until it is hot to touch.

2. Powder rice and Omam/ Ajwain together finely.

3. Add 2 tsp of rice powder and mix it with water with out lumps.

4. Allow it to cook in light flame. Finally add ghee/oil to the porridge and mix well.

5. The porridge can be thick or thin based on the baby’s tolerance

Note - Initially when you introduce rice porridge, give it a little diluted or thin for a week.

Nutritional highlights of the recipe – Rice provides carbohydrate. Ajwain/ omum helps in easy digestion. Coconut oil/ ghee help to provide fats required for the body.
